MYOShift's first residency occupies an empty warehouse building at The Castle Climbing Centre in Stoke Newington. This residency explores what is needed from community spaces and how we preserve, energise and create new public and community spaces in a city whose tenants experience instability and precarity everyday.
We invite members of the community to use the space to serve their needs: to share skills, hold events, meet new people and take refuge. The space is free for anyone to enjoy and hang out. Events, workshops, talks and use of tools operate on a ‘Pay As You Feel’ basis. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
It is the responsibility of all participants of MYOShift to contribute to a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone. With this in mind, MYOShift does not tolerate discrimination, oppression or violence of any kind. We will not hesitate to take action to address any issues. Please refer to our Safer Spaces Policy for further information.
